RTV 11 – ASSIGNMENT # 1            NAME _______________________
AUDITION/AIR-CHECK                DUE: October 20, 2008

Use the Delta College Radio Format Clock and Log as a guide to produce your first one-hour radio audition/air-check.  Record you audition/air-check onto the RTV 11 Radio Lab external hard drive (into the RTV 11 Assignment # 1 folder).  After recording, burn your audition/air-check onto a CD.  Turn your audition/air-check CD (mp3 email) and sample logs in for grading by placing it in the AIR-CHECK IN box on the Station Manager’s desk.

Procedure for producing a 1-hour audition/air-check:

1. On the log print the time and date that you begin your program.  Also, sign your name in the appropriate space.

2.  Deliver a legal station identification (legal ID).  Example: KWIN, Stockton
•    In the appropriate space be sure to write down the time and date the legal ID was   delivered (initial in appropriate space).

3.  Air approximately 10-minutes of programming (music, talk, jokes, etc.).  About
•        10-miutes into the hour, play the appropriate prerecorded PSA (public service
•          announcement – listed on log).  After the PSA, read or play a station promotion
(PROMO) spot. In the appropriate space be sure to write down the time and date the PSA
 and PROMO were aired (initial in appropriate space).

4. Air approximately 10-minutes of programming (music, talk, jokes, etc.).  About
•          20-miutes after the hour, present a 2-minute newscast (read 2 to 3 news stories).
•           After the newscast, play PSA listed on the log.  In the appropriate space be sure to
          write down the time and date the newscast and PSA were aired (initial).
   
 5. Air approximately 10-minutes of programming (music, talk, jokes, etc.).  About
•               30-miutes after the hour, deliver a legal station identification and PROMO.
•           In the appropriate space be sure to write down the time and date the legal ID and
•             PROMO were aired (initial).

6. Air approximately 10-minutes of programming (music, talk, jokes, etc.).  About
•               20-miutes before the hour, play the appropriate PSA and PROMO.
•              In the appropriate space be sure to write down the time and date the PSA and 
          PROMO were aired (initial).


 7. Air approximately 10-minutes of programming (music, talk, jokes, etc.).  About
•               10-miutes before the hour, present a 1-minute weather forecast or deliver a 1-
•               minute presentation about upcoming Delta College events (calendar).
•              After the newscast, play PSA listed on the log.  In the appropriate space be sure to
•              write down the time and date the weather-cast and/or calendar were aired (initial).


8.    On the log print the time and date that you end your program.  Also, sign your name in the appropriate space (Sign Off).
